Beware of persons coming to front doors as Contractors...continued!

From a "Sister-Watch" in Commack:

my elderly mom recently had 2 men come to her door. when they saw she had a friend there, one pulled on the other to leave. they came with a bogus explanation of doing contracting work for a neighbor, and also will be back in the neighborhood selling and asking for donations which all did not make sense. when we asked that neighbor if the 2 men had done work there, they said no! we are definitely concerned. thanks for any help you can give...”

-Please be aware and vigilant against anyone that comes to your front door!

Working on the following:

I am currently working on getting the track re-paved or at least repaired at Dorchester Park. I also want the entrances/exits to be stroller/wheelchair (handicapped) accessible so I am asking that if they do come to repave or repair that they add walkways from entrances/exits up to meet the track.
Will keep you all posted as to if anything can be done. I am working with Councilwoman Kathleen Walsh and the Parks Commissioner.

Beware of persons coming to front doors as Contractors

Apparently, the cops are looking for a black and hispanic guy. These two guys were in Commack/ Kings Park area about 2 weeks before Christmas per another local NW and there have been reported break-ins/ robberies. Some forced entries with folks at home and others while folks are out.

I thought I would share this since I had the practically this same incident happen to me 2wks ago.

The black guy had knocked on my door at about 3:25 pm as I was leaving to go to the bus stop; he surprised and scared me as I was just opening my door and they were right there. They were very friendly. The black male had on a bright orange vest that said "contractor". He had 2 young black women also with him. The women did the speaking and handed me a flyer offering siding/windows. I told them was not interested and they left.

I also think he was surprised that I was home as we park our cars in the garage.

This is a great example of why every one of us needs to call 911 for suspicious individuals we see in our area. No reports you make to this watch will go ignored. Let’s stay vigilant looking out for one another. If I get any further information I will send it out to you.

Thank you,

Your NW Captain
